September 2, 2024 FINGER LAKES PRODUCE AUCTION Today I had the most fun I've had in a long time at the Finger Lakes Produce Auction in Penn Yan. There are still auctions in September and November so check them out at: Fingerlakesproduceauction.com I got there right at 9:00 (next time I'll arrive earlier; the parking lot was packed!) Since it was my first time, I walked around and checked out the merchandise (the nursery auction started at 9:00, produce at 10:00.) I asked a friendly-looking gentleman what to do and he explained I had to go the office and get a ticket. It is fascinating to listen to the auctioneer, and after a while, you get the idea of how to bid. I scored six rosebushes for $3.50 each! There were some shrubs that caught my eye, but I had already been there for two hours and they were a long way from getting to those shrubs. There is a food stand with all kinds of breakfast sandwiches, ice cream, and this day they had a chicken barbeque. I didn't eat
